So I thought it was about time that I did a bit of a physique update.
I have not been great the past 3 months, my training has been okay, but not brilliant, but my diet has been all over the place. Between various birthdays and family occasions and consequent weekends at home, I had kissed goodbye to any kind of consistency, and my body started to suffer due to this. I love being at home and I love eating out, and I wouldn’t ever let fitness stop me from doing this, but I was taking it to the extreme, and using eating out a lot as an excuse for then eating very poorly the next day and then the next, I just couldn’t stop eating, and a lot of it was junk!
BUT, that happens. You put it behind you and move on.
So on Monday, I started a cut, this basically means reducing your body fat whilst trying to maintain as much muscle as possible – getting lean! There will be various alterations I will make to my diet and training throughout the cut, but to start with this just means actually doing some cardio, slightly lowering my calorie intake, eating clean, and then slowly decreasing the amount of carbs I’m eating in a day over time, the lowest will still be upwards of 100g, and that will be just before I go on holiday (hoping that will be the last week of June!). It’s always a game of trial and error, different things work for different people, and it’s so important to listen to your body, so I will let you know how it’s going!
Today is Day 4, I am 2 lb down, which will be water weight, I predict I probably have another 2 lb of water weight that I will lose pretty quickly, and so today I am sitting at 126 lb.
Please excuse the fact I have just got out of bed, and look a bit of a mess, oh well.
I am actually sooooo glad I took these photos this morning, I was feeling terrible about myself and my body and I felt so disappointed in myself, I had put on 12 lb in 3 months, and feeling so low about it was just demotivating me even more, but comparing this morning’s photos to the ones taken on New Years Day, when I was 116 lb, the differences aren’t as terrible as I thought!! I am a bit fluffy, I’m holding more weight in my upper body and my upper arms, but that’s not a surprise to me as it’s the first place I put weight on, and my waist is not as small and tapered, but I am not feeling terrible about where I am! It also has proved to me that I’ve actually put on more muscle than I thought! I really feel like I’ve put size on my glutes in the past 4 weeks or so, and as this is an area I struggle in, I am over the moon! I’m just praying I can keep them now! (Also looking a lot better with some tan on!).

For me, this is why taking photos are so important, it’s very hard to get a realistic perspective of yourself and you cannot gage change properly!
I have some work to do, and to be entering deadline and exam season whilst cutting isn’t ideal, but and I will try and keep you updated on the cut and what is working for me!
Everyone goes through periods where you’re just not very motivated or really busy, and you have other priorities, but that’s okay! You can always turn it around, and you can always start over, don’t let a slight step-back, or even a massive one hold you back or get you down!
