January ’18 Favourites
This should maybe be titled November/December/January favourites as there hasn’t been one in so long and some of these things are actually from a few months ago now, but hey if they’ve stood the test of time they must be good right?!
Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter – £24.50
I was given this as a present from one of my friends back in late October or early November and I have literally used it everyday since it is soooo wearable. It has a champagne colouring so it doesn’t stand out against your skin, and has a really pretty shimmer, you can’t wear too much and it will last all day long – I’ve used it for nights out and it passes that test too. I tend to wear it over the top of a liquid highlighter so it has that extra pop, and I feel like you can get away with using slightly less that way, although it does seem to be lasting really well! It’s not the cheapest out there, but worth the money!

iPhone 8
Again I actually got this in November (my 6 was just dying more and more by the day) but I love it, and the new gold colour just makes me want to cry it’s that nice, putting a case on it is killing me. I’m not a very tech-y person, I can’t tell you all the ways its better than past models, but the camera is noticeably better and the fingerprint recognition is much much quicker, the home button isn’t a button until the phone is active which I found slightly irritating to start with when I wanted to check the time, it lights up when you lift it, which again, irritated me to start with but I now find very useful. Bigger memory, quicker reactions, overall I am happy 🙂

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Targeted Spot Treatment
I was really apprehensive to try this, how was a light going to help get rid of and prevent spots when it was so rare anything else ever worked, it’s a light, but I have been pleasantly surprised! I wouldn’t say this is going to work for small surface spots or blackheads, but if you can feel a painful one coming up, stick this on it and so far, it has prevented it becoming a huge problem! You simply hold the light on to the spot for 2 minutes up to 3 times a day (I have been doing it twice and I’ve still had decent results) and it seems to make the spot disappear within a couple of days without it ever fully coming out or you feeling like you need to squeeze it, which I’m usually really bad for! The energy from red and blue lights filters through the skin and has been scientifically proven to target acne-causing bacteria, and claims to reduce the appearance of spots and breakouts. The blue light targets acne causing bacteria, while the red light reduces inflammation. It’s £20 currently in Boots on save 1/3, and if you are prone to painful spots I’d give it a try!
Sport Luxe V Tailoring
Just a little trend that has caught my eye. I have never really been one for the world of sports luxe as it is now commonly referred to, don’t get me wrong I love my gym clothes and I love my everyday fashion-y clothes, but I just didn’t personally love this alexander wang-esque crossover between the two which has been taking the catwalks by storm the past couple of years, but all of a sudden trousers like these are popping up and I love them! They can be worn literally anywhere, work, weekend or night out. This pair (excuse the state of the mirror and the fact my sheets were in the process of being washed) is from ASOS Petite, £38, and they are soon comfy, not tight on the waist at all as they’re elasticated and the perfect length, couldn’t ask for more. Right hand pair is from Topshop – £45.
Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose Hand Cream – £10
I just can’t deal with how good this smells, I will absolutely be buying more things in this range because I can’t get enough of it.
The Greatest Showman
Has anyone NOT seen this? Seems like pretty much everyone has, and after three attempts (they were actually sold out, HOW after the film has been out for so long?!) I finally got to see it last weekend and I loved it. Although I do quite enjoy a musical from time to time I wouldn’t say I was mad keen, and if you really don’t like them, I still feel like you might be able to appreciate this, it’s a true story which just improves any film in my opinion, and it’s basically based on equality and celebrating individuality and stuff, it’s current, and just a feel good film really, also the soundtrack is great and is guaranteed to put you in a good mood 🙂

‘The Ordinary’ Salicylic Acid
Another ‘The Ordinary’ product I know, I am a little obsessed, but this one in particular interested me as I thought I may have even been allergic to salicylic acid. Whenever I had used face washes or spot/blemish creams in the past with it in it seemed to make my skin worse, and almost bring me out in a rash where the product had been applied, to the point where I just didn’t buy anything with it in. Turns out I’m not allergic, wahey! It also proves how many additional ingredients are added to many skin products, and what ‘The Ordinary’ is moving away from, salicylic acid is the active ingredient so why do they include so many others to mess you skin up?! Anyway I do feel like this has again helped to reduce the amount of spots I’ve had, my skin is looking so much better than it was 6 months and I put ALOT of this down to The Ordinary products!!
