For me, diet is 100% the hardest part of a fitness or gym lifestyle. I just love everything unhealthy, and I binge eat massively, and it’s a constant battle to try and stay on track. Quite often I’ll pig out when I shouldn’t and get annoyed with myself afterwards, but everyone does it, and you just have to try and start fresh again the next morning!
For me it’s a lot easier when I’m at uni; living away from home means I can not buy the unhealthy cheat foods, and so I can stop myself from eating them because they’re not there, and I can plan exactly what I’m eating each day without having to consider anyone or anything else! At home it can be hard to try and fit around the family meal and trying to find easy, healthy substitutes can be a challenge, as I do like to sit down and eat together, but still attempt to fit around my macros!
These are some typical items I will buy when doing a supermarket food shop that are healthy, but also keep me looking forward to meal times and evening snacks!
I don’t really enjoy cooking at all, so I am very lazy as you will see, I just want everything to be quick and easy – anyone who makes their own sauces or cooks from scratch etc, I salute you, you can also make much tastier, healthier food that way! Maybe one day!
